Motorcycle

Arendal is a great stop on the way when you want to experience Norway on a motorcycle trip. Combine scenic coastal areas and small summertowns alongside the old mainroad along the coast with winding roads and swaying inland nature in the area around Evje. From Kristiansand and westwards by MC, we reccomend Nordsjøvegen, combining magnificent nature and cute smalltowns.

Hotel Arendal is located right in the center of Arendal, with restaurants and bars just outside the door. From summer -22, you can also find an exciting Street food hall on the basement floor of the hotel. In the backyard you can find some free motorcycle parking spaces when the backyard is not in use – first come, first served!

Smart, modest, comfortable and digital — Hotell Arendal offers accommodation to travelers in need of a comfy bed only. We hope you spend the rest of your time in Arendal outside the hotel, meeting people and exploring all Arendal has to offer. You will find a number of venues and places to meet, activities, entertainment and beautiful outdoor areas on Hotell Arendal’s doorstep.

With children

The city centre of Arendal has plenty of attractions for children. Close by you’ll find Torvet — one of the main squares in the city centre — with playground, library and a glass elevator that takes you to “the roof of Arendal”; Fløybyen. From there, you’ve got a magnificent view over the city, sea and nearby islands.

We recommend a soft serve ice cream, or how about a huge purke — a bun with vanilla custard and frosting — from Baker Jørgensen, right across the street from Torvet. If you stroll down to the harbour area “Pollen” to snack on a freshly made fish cake from Fiskebrygga, or taste the local specialty munker from Strand Café (a cross between waffles and donuts, delicioiusly salty and savory!). Enjoy it while watching the boats passing by.

Walk along Langbrygga towards the sea, here you will find plenty of small playgrounds. You will arrive at science centre Vitensenteret, and finally at Barbu Park — a large park and playground by the sea, with plenty of fun, including a skate park and a beach volleyball court.
